Setting Goals and Objectives – Days 4 & 5 – Planning Your Own Results
Posted on 07. Jan, 2010 by Samantha Gardner in Life Management, Time Management
I hope this series have been giving you the bigger picture of setting goals and objectives, rather than stating some New Year Resolution that most stop doing by the end of January.
Day 4 is about writing down the results (some people also call them outcomes) you are striving to achieve this year or whatever time frame you have decided upon.
Take out your Days 1, 2 and 3 pieces of paper to do this.
Look at each zone for improvement and write down one or two out big results you would like to create for this year – keep them short and aligned with your values. Then write down a least one reason why you want to do this.
Here a personal example of mine:
Category: Fabulous Family
Result: One Week Vacation with Husband and Son without any Technology
Reason(s): To Connect with just My Husband and Son; To Relax and Unwind; To Let My Mind Take a Tech Break; To Experience a New Place
On Day 6 – we can break it down a bit more so it can be something really big. Here is one of my Business examples to show you how it can be a bit more broad.
Category: Professional Development 301
Result: Learn and Apply PPC to My Business
Reason(s): To Gain a New Skill that I can Use personally and Then Teach/Explain to Others; To Expand My Business
That is broad result that I want to have happen but I will show you how to break down results into smaller manageable goals that are possible, achievable and flexible.
It may take you a day or two but spend some time. See Ya Then.
